Microsoft Fabric Fundamentals

A practical two day introductory course for participants who are new to Microsoft Fabric and want to understand how the platform brings data integration, storage, transformation, analytics, and reporting together. The agenda introduces the Fabric environment, workspaces, OneLake, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, basic data transformation, Power BI integration, and an overview of real time analytics. The course focuses on building a clear understanding of the platform and its main components without moving into advanced engineering, administration, or architecture.

What will you learn?

You will learn how Microsoft Fabric organizes end to end data and analytics workflows within a unified platform. You will understand the basic roles of OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, pipelines, notebooks, semantic models, and Power BI and how these components can work together. You will also learn how to navigate Fabric, bring data into the platform, perform simple transformations, and make prepared data available for analysis and reporting.

  • Understand the main components and typical workflows of Microsoft Fabric
  • Navigate Fabric workspaces and organize common data and analytics items
  • Ingest, store, transform, and query data using basic Fabric capabilities
  • Connect prepared data to Power BI for analysis and reporting

Requirements:

  • Suitable for participants who are new to Microsoft Fabric
  • Basic familiarity with data, spreadsheets, databases, or reporting is helpful
